Wings

I haven't used my wings in so long
I'd forgotten they were there
But I know this about myself
I never fail to try

So I'll be ready when the time comes
To display them in the sun
No tripping as I run
To the edge and soar

I will discover who I am
Who I won't be
And will not settle for an imitation
Of what love really is

I won't allow fear to surpass happiness
Sadness to dethrone joy
I will be whole
And ready for the One
