the final hours of us are winding down
and you call to tell me you love me
that if I come back our lives will be as perfect
as I always expected them to be
that no day is complete
no action fulfilling
no laughter heartfelt
without me there
that you would do everything right
honor your family
understand your responsibilities
and care for someone more than yourself
that I would never again be disappointed
or have to see things hidden
never be broken hearted
because of your lies
and I can't help but think
that's what you promised
when you married me one February
so I have every reason to make this
our final Spring
